In 2003 we launched CABE Space, a division of CABE which campaigns for better designed and managed parks and public spaces. With support from celebrities such as Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen and Linford Christie, our Wasted Space campaign report highlighted how much potential green space in our urban environments is wasted. Working with the media we urged people to nominate areas of neglected or derelict land in their own neighbourhoods to highlight the extent of the problem. Over 2,000 people responded.
