Our Parkforce campaign lobbied local authorities to commit greater resources to on-site park workers. We created an indentity – Parkforce – that allowed every UK park worker to feel part of a nationwide campaign.

The Parkforce Identity

To demonstrate the importance of investing in a multi-skilled ‘parkforce’, we developed a report, a series of newsletters and project-managed a UK tour by two New York City Urban Park Rangers.

Local authorities were asked to sign a pledge agreeing to develop and sustain investment in the people who care for their public spaces and to adopt the new ‘parkforce’ identity for all existing park staff and volunteers. After just 3 months, 10,000 park workers were wearing the Parkforce badge and one third of England’s local authorities had signed the Parkforce pledge.

To celebrate the wonderful work already being done by local authorities and park workers across the country, we created the Parkforce Awards.
